Cloudflare Web Analytics is free, private and quick to set up. But it only covers the basics. Datasense adds goals, revenue by source, JavaScript errors, realtime visitors and a proxy that gets past ad blockers.
Free up to 10k pageviews a month. No card.
If you want free page counts and Core Web Vitals, Cloudflare is hard to beat. If you want to track signups, sales and errors, Datasense does more.
Side by side, on the things people ask about most. Checked against Cloudflare Web Analytics's own site in October 2026.

Cloudflare Web Analytics doesn't support custom events yet, so you can't track signups or purchases. In Datasense, a goal is one line of code or a data attribute on a button.
Cloudflare says ad blockers can block its beacon. Datasense can load from your own domain, and there's a Cloudflare Worker recipe for it, so blockers let it through.
Cloudflare keeps full data for 7 days, then switches to a sample of about 10%. Datasense keeps full, unsampled data, which you can export as CSV or JSON.
Cloudflare Web Analytics is free. Datasense is free up to 10k pageviews a month, then $9 a month for 100k pageviews. If you only need basic counts, Cloudflare costs less. If you need goals, revenue and errors, Datasense is worth it.
It takes about five minutes, and you don't have to turn anything off on day one.
Create a free account and paste one script tag into your site's <head>. Leave Cloudflare Web Analytics where it is for now.
Compare visitors, top pages and sources. Datasense often shows more visitors once the proxy is on, because ad blockers stop blocking it.
When you're happy, delete the Cloudflare Web Analytics snippet. Export your old data from Cloudflare Web Analytics first if you want to keep it.
Or see all web analytics tools on one page.
Add one script tag, compare the numbers, then keep the one you like. The free plan is enough to test it.
