DataFast is popular with indie makers because it shows which traffic sources bring in money. Datasense does that too, and adds a free plan, JavaScript error tracking and more pageviews for the price. Here's how they compare.
Free up to 10k pageviews a month. No card.
Both tools are built for small teams that ship fast. Pick DataFast if revenue reports like MRR and churn by channel are the main thing you need. Pick Datasense if you want revenue plus errors, more pageviews for the same price, and a free plan.
Side by side, on the things people ask about most. Checked against DataFast's own site in October 2026.

DataFast connects straight to payment providers like Stripe and shows revenue, MRR and churn by traffic source. Datasense also ties each payment to the visit that led to it. You pass a session ID to your checkout and send the payment from your webhook. It works with Stripe, Dodo Payments or any other provider, but it takes a few more lines of code.
DataFast uses cookies by default, and its own FAQ says you may need a cookie banner. It has an optional cookieless mode, but visitor IDs then reset about every day. Datasense works the same way: cookies by default, with a cookieless switch in each site's settings. In cookieless mode returning visitors also count as new each day, but revenue tracking still works because the session ID travels with the checkout.
Datasense records crashes, failed scripts and console.error calls from real visitors, and keeps the last 100 per site with the stack trace and browser. We didn't find error tracking in DataFast's docs, so you'd need a second tool like Sentry.
DataFast has no free plan. It starts at $9 a month for 10k events on one site, after a 14-day trial. Datasense is free up to 10k pageviews a month, and $9 a month gets you 100k pageviews and up to 10 sites. For the same $9, you get about ten times the traffic.
It takes about five minutes, and you don't have to turn anything off on day one.
Create a free account and paste one script tag into your site's <head>. Leave DataFast where it is for now.
Compare visitors, top pages and sources. Datasense often shows more visitors once the proxy is on, because ad blockers stop blocking it.
When you're happy, delete the DataFast snippet. Export your old data from DataFast first if you want to keep it.
Or see all web analytics tools on one page.
Add one script tag, compare the numbers, then keep the one you like. The free plan is enough to test it.
