The best web analytics tools in 2026

There are a lot of analytics tools, and most comparison pages are long and confusing. This one is short. Here is what each tool is good at, what it costs, and who should use it.

How to pick one

Start with three questions. They rule out most tools fast.

  • Do you want a cookie banner? Tools that use cookies usually need one in the EU and UK. Cookieless tools don't.
  • Do you need simple numbers or deep product data? Visitors, pages and sources are easy. Funnels, cohorts and session replay need a bigger tool.
  • What will you pay at your traffic? Check the price at the number of pageviews you get today, and at ten times that.

We make Datasense, so we're biased. We tried to be fair anyway, and every page says when another tool is the better pick.
