Connect your payment provider
See your business revenue on top of your analytics: connect Stripe, Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Paddle or Dodo Payments with an API key.
Connect your payment provider and your revenue shows up on top of your web analytics. It's the first step of revenue attribution.
Get started
- In your dashboard, open the site's Settings.
- Go to Revenue and pick your payment provider. If you use several, connect them all: their revenue adds up.
- Follow the instructions to create an API key and paste it in:
| Provider | What to paste |
|---|---|
| Stripe | A restricted key (rk_live_…) from the link in settings, with the permissions it pre-selects. Don't change them. |
| Polar | Your organization ID, and an access token with no expiration and only checkouts:read, orders:read, organizations:read, products:read, subscriptions:read and webhooks:write. |
| Lemon Squeezy | Your store ID and an API key. |
| Paddle | An API key (pdl_live_…) that never expires, with only Transaction (Read) and Notification settings (Read and Write). |
| Dodo Payments | An API key from Developer → API Keys. |
When you connect, Datasense checks the key, adds a webhook to your account so new payments, renewals and refunds arrive on their own, and imports the last 12 months of payments. Keys are stored encrypted and used only for this. Disconnecting removes the webhook again.
One account for several sites? Under the connected provider, list this site's product IDs: only their payments (and their renewals and refunds) count here.
Using something else? Report payments with the Payment API.
Currency
Revenue is reported in one currency, set in Settings → Currency. Payments in other currencies are converted at the day's rate, and changing the currency converts past payments too.
Next step
- Attribute revenue to find your best marketing channels.
