How to Combine Micro-Surveys with Web Analytics to Fix Churn
Combine quantitative web analytics with qualitative micro-surveys to uncover pricing objections, missing features, and UX confusion in minutes.

Analytics tells you how many visitors leave your pricing page without signing up. It can't tell you what stopped them. One question, asked as they're about to leave, often can.
Why this matters
The reasons people don't buy are usually few and repeated: the price, a missing feature, not sure it fits, just looking. Once you know which one comes up most, you know what to fix first.
Why most analytics tools can't tell you
Survey tools collect answers without knowing where the visitor came from or what they did. Analytics knows that but never asks. Using both means two scripts and matching answers to visits by hand.
How Datasense does it
Datasense forms run on the same script as your analytics. An exit-intent form on /pricing asks one question as the pointer heads for the tab bar, and each answer is linked to the visitor's country, device and profile, and on Pro and Team to their session replay.
How to do it
- 1Open Forms and create a form with a choice question like "What stopped you from signing up today?", with 3 to 5 answers, and an optional text question for anything else.
- 2Set the trigger to On exit intent, and the pages to /pricing (add /signup or /checkout if you like).
- 3Choose Once per visitor so nobody sees it twice, then go live.
- 4After a week, open the form's results: the choice breakdown shows the most common reason, and each response links to the visitor who gave it.
Exit intent only fires on desktop. For mobile visitors, add a second form on the same page that shows on scroll.
Turn it into action
- If price comes up most, test a cheaper entry plan or a longer trial before you change the product.
- If a missing feature comes up, check whether it already exists and the page just doesn't say so.
- Read the text answers next to each visitor's source: objections from Reddit and from Google are often different.
Good to know
- Exit intent needs a mouse pointer, so it only works on desktop.
- A form has at most 2 questions, so ask the one you most need answered.
